Researchers at the Georgia Health Policy Center are partnering with the National Center on Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to identify and describe the key barriers associated with low utilization of behavioral therapy for the treatment of ADHD among preschool-aged children (2-5 years of age). These barriers include: family barriers and barriers associated with health care provider knowledge, behaviors, and preferences. Secondarily, researchers aim to identify and understand the state and community programs that result in higher rates of behavioral therapy among young children diagnosed with ADHD.
