Rodney Lyn serves as associate dean for academic affairs and associate professor in the School of Public Health at Georgia State University. He is also the deputy director of the Center of Excellence on Health Disparities Research and supervises the Research, Training, and Education Core for the program. Lyn is a core faculty member of the Georgia Health Policy Center.
He has special interest in the role of public policy in shaping environments, influencing behaviors, and public health. His research is focused on childhood obesity prevention, school and community health, and the reduction of health disparities. Lyn directs the Policy Leadership for Active Youth (PLAY) initiative, a collaborative effort between the state’s research universities and statewide partners to address childhood obesity by connecting an emerging evidence base to practice and policy.
Lyn’s research has been published in a variety of journals including the Journal of Public Health Management and Practice, Journal of Physical Activity and Health, and International Journal of Diabetes Mellitus.
