Karen Minyard, Ph.D., director of the Georgia Health Policy Center, has published an editorial on the Planning Tool, “Leading through Health System Change: A Public Health Opportunity.” The editorial was published in The Journal of Public Health Management and Practice and will be featured in the January/February 2015 issue. Public health leaders have important questions related to how the Affordable Care Act (ACA) will affect the future of public health at local, state, and national levels. With input from public health professionals from across the country, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the National Network of Public Health Institutes, and the Georgia Health Policy Center have created this collaborative planning tool to help public health organizations begin to examine and discuss opportunities and challenges that health system change poses.
