Atlanta has the largest gap between the highest income and the lowest income residents, greater even than cities like San Francisco or New York, according to Bloomberg analysis. This income inequality makes it difficult for children born into poverty to ever move out of poverty.
Recognizing this link between poverty and health, ARCHI, the Atlanta Regional Collaborative for Health Improvement, committed to a yearlong study of the roots of inequities many Atlantans experience today.
