Technical Assistance
The Center of Excellence for Behavioral Health & Wellbeing focuses on capacity building by providing training and tailored support for program implementation and development of sustainable, high-quality approaches to building behavioral health systems. It employs technical assistance practices that are modeled after the Georgia Health Policy Center’s decades of community-based technical assistance that is relationship-based, sustainability-focused, individualized, and centered on continuous learning.
To facilitate continuous learning, the center often uses data-informed technical assistance. Building technical assistance around evaluation findings enables a bidirectional learning cycle in which clients are able to quickly apply findings to their own practices.
The Center of Excellence provides a multipronged approach to capacity building and technical assistance that includes individualized consultation, coaching and thought partnership; just-in-time requests; peer learning; and curated resources, trainings, and webinars. As part of a larger public health institute and university, the center can draw upon the expertise of an extensive network of specialized expertise from faculty and collaborators.
Current capacity building and technical assistance work at the Center of Excellence supports program design and implementation, organizational development, data capacity and other skills building, and workforce development throughout the behavioral health system.
