Options for State Medicaid Programs During COVID-19 Emergency
On March 13, 2020, President Trump declared a national emergency, in accordance with the Stafford Act, for the entire United States in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis. Previously, on Jan. 31, 2020, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Azar declared a public health emergency for the entire United States in accordance with the Public Health Services Act. Both declarations remain in effect.
