- Biography
Bill Rencher is an assistant project director at the Georgia Health Policy Center (GHPC) and serves as the leader of GHPC’s Medicaid Policy and Business Team, working under a contract with the Georgia Department of Community Health to provide the state agency with research and technical assistance for the Georgia Medicaid program. His expertise includes federal and state Medicaid regulations, compliance reviews, legal analysis, and report writing. Rencher also leads GHPC’s research and technical assistance work with the Georgia Department of Public Health’s Office of HIV/AIDS, as well as the center’s work as the administrative home of Communities Joined in Action, a national network of community health collaboratives.
As an attorney, Rencher also provides his expertise on Medicaid regulations and legal compliance issues to multiple teams at GHPC, including Aligning Federal Funding, the Community Health Systems Development Team, the Legislative Health Policy Certificate Program, the Center of Excellence for Children’s Behavioral Health, and the Maternal and Child Health Learning and Innovation Collaborative. In addition to Medicaid, Rencher has experience with hospital financial assistance programs, federal and state health care laws and regulations, the Affordable Care Act, and research ethics.
Rencher is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and Health Law section. His research has appeared in the American Journal of Public Health, the Journal of Law and the Biosciences, and BMC Public Health.
