- Biography
Jana Pruett Covington is a research associate who currently works on projects pertaining to behavioral health and substance use disorders. She utilizes experience as both a clinical social worker and a researcher to inform her support for several state-wide projects.
As a member of the Georgia Health Policy Center’s Center for Excellence in Children’s behavioral health, she helps to support the evaluation of and provide technical assistance for the Georgia Apex Program, the state’s school-based mental health initiative. In addition, she currently supports the Georgia Department of Public Health’s update to the Multi-Stakeholder Opioid and Substance Use Response Plan. Covington has previously worked with the Georgia Interagency Directors Team to support the creation of the System of Care State Plan for children’s behavioral health. Covington has experience in both qualitative and quantitative research in the areas of service access and provision, and the impact of policy on behavioral health services. Covington’s published research has appeared in The Journal of Psychoactive Drugs, Violence Against Women, and Sexual Abuse.
