- Biography
John Butts is a senior research associate at the Georgia Health Policy Center (GHPC) and a member of the Community Health Systems Development team. He provides technical assistance to rural health initiatives across the country with a focus on building their capacity and long-term sustainability.
With expertise in the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs from his more than 10 years of public health experience, Butts provides individualized and targeted technical assistance to support a diverse portfolio of rural grantees. His technical assistance services include curriculum and tool development, training, evaluation design and planning, strategic planning, meeting design and facilitation, and sustainability planning.
Additionally, Mr. Butts is part of the team at GHPC contracted to evaluate Project LAUNCH Georgia, a five-year funded effort of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration to address the physical, social, emotional, and behavioral development of children ages 0 to 8. He also recently oversaw the technical assistance program for the Healthcare Georgia Foundation’s Childhood Obesity Prevention Grant Program, which funded four communities to develop policy, systems, and environmental approaches to impacting obesity.
Butts serves as a board member of the Georgia Rural Health Association.
