- Biography
Josephine Mhende is a senior research associate at the Center of Excellence for Children’s Behavioral Health, housed within the Georgia Health Policy Center. Her areas of expertise include public health program implementation and evaluation. Her research interests include maternal and child health care access, community-based participatory research, and contemplative approaches to mental health care.
Mhende supports research and evaluation efforts for the center. Specifically, she is the program manager for the Georgia Pediatric Mental Health Care Access Program, a Health Resources and Services Administration-funded grant program, aimed at linking pediatric providers and mental health care providers together. She oversees grant activities, serves as the point of contact for partners and the Interagency Directors Team, and leads program evaluation for the grant.
Mhende’s published research has appeared in the Journal of Medical Internet Research and the Journal of the Georgia Public Health Association.
