- Biography
Michelle Marcus is a specialist in community-based participatory action research, multisector collaboration, Health in All Policies, health equity, health impact assessment, health promotion, evaluation, and social determinants of health.
In her capacity as a senior research associate at the Georgia Health Policy Center, she conducts policy analysis, training and technical assistance, and evaluation in order tosupport and track evidence-based health interventions using a policy, system, and environment approach. Marcus uses stakeholder engagement, scientific evidence, and quantitative, qualitative, and geospatial data from primary and secondary sources to assess the impacts of health equity from many different sectors, including housing, economic policy, land use, infrastructure, and more. She also provides technical assistance to sites working to improve health equity and address the social determinants of health through multisector collaboration, including facilitation of peer learning or communities of practice through the Statewide Health Equity Initiative. She has led or co-led several local community-based health equity initiatives.
