Addressing COVID-19 Vaccine Access and Hesitancy
The Georgia Health Policy Center (GHPC) is supporting the Georgia Department of Human Services’ Division of Aging Services to address COVID-19 vaccine equity, access, and confidence in the state. The project involves the development of an evidence-based media campaign in partnership with the state’s No Wrong Door network.
Specifically, GHPC is facilitating a No Wrong Door collaborative that includes representatives from Area Agencies of Aging; Centers for Independent Living; University Centers for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research, and Service; the University of Georgia Cooperative Extension Office; Veterans Affairs centers; tribal entities; and other state agencies.
The center is also conducting a review of the peer-reviewed and grey literature, tracking COVID-19 vaccine resources and information shared by other organizations and government entities, and analyzing national and state level data on vaccine hesitancy. Reckon Branding, a contracted partner in the project, will conduct digital surveys and online research to understand audiences most hesitant to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. Together, these data, combined with data collected from state-based focus groups, will inform the development of a tailored multimedia campaign with messages to specific audiences. Final creative assets, including digital and place media, as well as print advertising, will be made available to partner organizations and disseminated broadly throughout the state.
