Evaluating Kaiser Permanente’s Advancing Racial Equity Initiative
Evaluating Kaiser Permanente’s Advancing Racial Equity Initiative
Kaiser Permanente funded 34 community-based organizations, and one national partner, PolicyLink, for a 24-month period to support actions that would address racial inequities negatively impacting the ability of some groups to attain their best health.
The Georgia Health Policy Center (GHPC) is evaluating Kaiser Permanente’s Advancing Racial Equity grants initiative to understand the activities and impacts of the funded organizations and their partners. The evaluation takes a qualitative, learning-focused approach and performance measures are aligned with the developmental phase of the sites and overall initiative, while setting up for a longer-term assessment of impact. Given the multisite nature of the initiative, GHPC’s evaluation focuses on big-picture items such as overall progress, policy and advocacy impact, successes, challenges, and recommendations, but balances the overarching trends with grantee-specific insights and stories of impact.
