Expanding Capacity to Address COVID-19 Disparities
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention awarded $2.25 billion to 108 state, local, U.S. territorial, and freely associated state health department to expand capacity and services that address COVID-19 related health disparities and advance health equity. The goals include expanding departmental capacity and services to prevent and control COVID-19 infection (or transmission) among populations at higher risk and that are underserved, including racial and ethnic minority groups and people living in rural communities are to reduce COVID-19-related health disparities.
The Georgia Health Policy Center is providing as-needed technical assistance to grantees as part of a consortium of public health institutes. Technical assistance will be tailored to individual and cohort needs.
