Georgia THRIVe: Georgia's Infant-Toddler Court Program
The Infant-Toddler Court Program, funded by the Health Resources and Services Administration, aims to improve the health, safety, well-being, and development of infants, toddlers, and families in the child welfare system, including those who have experienced or are at risk for significant maltreatment. The program addresses gaps in evidence-based practice and systems coordination by using two-generation, trauma-informed interventions that simultaneously address the needs of parents and children and mitigate the transmission of multigenerational trauma.
To leverage the unique strengths of Mindworks Georgia, a public-private, multiagency leadership collaborative, the Center of Excellence for Children’s Behavioral Health at the Georgia Health Policy Center facilitated the collaborative’s application to establish Georgia THRIVe, Georgia’s Infant-Toddler Court Program that will build a collaborative system to support young children and their families who are court-involved or at risk of child-welfare involvement. The Center of Excellence will provide leadership and staffing for the five-year effort including convening statewide leadership, facilitating design and implementation of the model, managing the awards for selected sites, serving as the fiscal home for project, and evaluating the impact of the project.
