Glidepath to the Future of Public Health
Glidepath to the Future of Public Health
The field of public health is being called on to not only address the threat of infectious disease, but also cross-sector determinants of health. With the aim of strengthening the U.S. public health system’s ability to respond to public health, health care, and social crises, the National Network of Public Health Institutes, Health Resources in Action, and Georgia Health Policy Center developed a framework to provide tactical and strategic guidance to governmental and nonprofit public health entities to develop of a successful, future public health system.
To develop this framework, the Georgia Health Policy Center conducted a rapid review of recent, industry-leading reports in addition to the adaptive and strategic frameworks incorporated in the Leading Through Health Systems Change Tool. The Glidepath is intended for health department leaders (federal, state, local, and tribal) actively building the future of public health practice in their respective jurisdictions and for nonprofit partners engaged in building complementary capacity to protect and improve the public’s health.
