Healthy Start Evaluation Cobb/Douglas County
The Health Resources and Services Administration has awarded over $100 million to improve pregnancy outcomes and reduce infant mortality through the Healthy Start Program. Targeting communities with worse maternal and child health outcomes, the initiative aims to reduce differences in access to and use of health services, to improve the quality of the local health care system, and to empower women and their families.
With Healthy Start funding, Cobb & Douglas Public Health provides family care coordinators to provide education, access to care, and emotional support to pregnant Black women. The Georgia Health Policy Center is aiding Cobb & Douglas Public Health with the evaluation of its Healthy Start program. The evaluation focuses on collecting client assessments required for all Healthy Start grantees and reporting data and performance measures to HRSA.
