Rural Maternity and Obstetrics Management
The Health Resources and Services Administration’s Rural Maternity and Obstetrics Management Strategies (RMOMS) program aims to develop financially sustainable and integrated network models in order to improve access to and continuity of maternal and obstetrics care in rural communities, ultimately improving maternal and neonatal outcomes. RMOMS is a four-year program structured by one year of planning followed by three years of implementation.
In partnership with University of North Carolina, the Georgia Health Policy Center (GHPC) is providing implementation coaching for RMOMS grantees and subject matter expertise in policy analysis; payer, partner, and patient engagement; health equity, maternity care services in medically underserved communities; and implementation of telehealth services.
GHPC is relatedly supporting the development of the Maternal Health Learning and Innovation Center, a national resource center on practices, policies, and tools to reduce maternal mortality and severe maternal morbidity.
