Rural Public Health Workforce Training Network
Rural Public Health Workforce Training Network
Given the stressors on rural health systems, including greater geographic distances to access services, provider shortages, and limited resources, there is a tremendous need to increase the capacity of health care and public health professionals to efficiently and effectively meet the needs of rural populations close to home. The Federal Office of Rural Health Policy’s Rural Public Health Workforce Training Network grant program is supporting rural networks to expand public health capacity by supporting health care job development, training, and placement in rural and tribal communities.
The Georgia Health Policy Center is providing technical assistance to grantees to support their initiatives to build the workforce in their networks in one or more of four specific areas: community health support/community health workers, health information technology and/or telehealth technical support, community paramedicine, and case management and/or respiratory therapy.
