Rural Tribal COVID-19 Response Grant
Rural Tribal COVID-19 Response Grant
Strengthening Tribal systems’ capacities, processes, and performance is an urgent need to eliminate health disparities and inequalities, particularly in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act allocated $15 million to support rural Tribal communities in their response to COVID-19.
The Georgia Health Policy Center and Seven Directions, a center for indigenous public health at the University of Washington, are providing technical assistance to grantees of the Health Resources and Services Administration’s Rural Tribal COVID-19 Response Grant. Technical assistance focuses on strengthening Tribal systems capacity, supporting implementation, and building sustainability. Technical assistance is tailored to meet the unique local needs of each grantee but may include providing resources and peer support connections in the areas of strategic planning, network and consortium development, program implementation, evaluation, and sustainability.
