Workforce Development
Workforce Development
The Georgia Health Policy Center (GHPC) employs a multifaceted approach to workforce development. GHPC’s workforce services emphasize capacity building and professional skills development.
GHPC’s approach to building workforce capacity encompasses all stages of workforce development including an environmental scan or needs assessment to identify resource needs and practice barriers and facilitators, strategy design, training, continued coaching, and ongoing evaluation. Workforce development-related activities are informed by best practices and evidence-based methods to gather reliable data and design effective and informed curriculum.
This comprehensive approach uses many of the center’s core competencies including research and evaluation and policy development and analysis to identify current workforce and policy gaps, technical assistance to enhance programmatic implementation, and strategic planning to ensure sustainability of capacity building efforts. GHPC has worked with state health agencies, education boards, and professional organizations to ensure the state has adequate capacity of well-trained professionals to meet future health system needs.
